Taio Cruz and John Legend Help Kick Off Opening Weekend WHEN: 10:30 a.m. EST, Friday, September 28
WHERE: Walt Whitman Shops, 160 Walk Whitman Rd., Huntington Station, NY 11746
WHAT: This Friday, Microsoft comes to the Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station with the areas first Microsoft store. As a part of the grand opening activities happening throughout the weekend, Microsoft is sponsoring a special performance by Taio Cruz and John Legend. The Microsoft Store doors will open on Friday, September 28, at 11:00 a.m., after a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Laura Wallace, General Manager, New York Metro District for Microsoft. Wallace will present up to $1 million in software grants. On Saturday, Curtis Martin will be at the store to help celebrate the opening and play Kinect with customers and fans at 2:00 p.m.
Customers should arrive early to the grand opening ceremonies on Friday for a chance to receive a gift bag and complimentary tickets to the exclusive performance by Taio Cruz and John Legend later that day.

Thursday, September 27
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. EST – Broadcast Preview Tours. Special sneak peek inside the store the day before it opens to capture b-roll.
Friday, September 28
10:30 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. EST – Grand Opening Ceremony. Join Microsoft’s Laura Wallace for a ribbon-cutting ceremony where she will present up to $1 million in software grants.
11:00 a.m. EST – Doors open!Microsoft plans a full day of celebration. Microsoft will be giving away gift bags to the first customers in line, and customers can take advantage of great deals on PCs, Windows Phones, Xbox releases and more.
4:00 p.m. EST — Gates open for special performance by Taio Cruz and John Legend. Customers who come to the Grand Opening Ceremonies early on Friday morning have a chance to receive complimentary tickets to the special performance later that day.

2:00 p.m. EST – Play Kinect with Curtis Martin.
