ALL SCHOOL:


  • Lyndhurst Homedays Thanks to all of the students who signed up for Lyndhurst Homedays.




    • Please report to the Brush Booth and identify yourself as a Brush High School Student volunteer for Homedays on any of the days you selected. The hours for Lyndhurst Homesdays are:




      • Friday 5:00pm to 11:00pm

      • Saturday 12:00 noon to 12-Midnight

      • Sunday 1:00pm to 9:00pm




  • Again...Remember This WILL count for volunteer hours, please stop in the office today to get your form to keep track of the hours that you will work this weekend and bring the form in on Monday to Mrs. Sanford.




  • Also, those who agreed to march in the parade, please pick up a form from the office as well.

  • Debate Club Are you interested in speaking, debating and research in a fun and competitive environment? If so, join us on Monday, September 8, 2014 in Room B111 at 3:05 p.m. to get more information about the Debate, Speech and Mock Trial. For more information, please see Mrs. Sorrells in B111 or Mr. Agrast in B109. (9/5)




  • Environmental Club at Brush Attention all students who would like to join Environmental Club at Brush. Our first meeting of the year will be on Monday, September 8th, at 3:15 in room A201. Please join us as we discuss our recycling program and plan our fundraiser.(9/8)




  • Science Olympiad: All students interested in Science Olympiad: There will be an informational meeting on Monday, September 8th at 3:05 in room B02. Any questions see Mr. James.(9/8)




  • Attention all band and orchestra members: Auditions are THIS UPCOMING Monday and Tuesday for the Soundsation Show Choir BAND. Please get yourself signed up for an audition time immediately. The sign-up sheet is in Miss. Ballou's room, C109. Auditions will take place from 3:15-4:30. Join us in making the Soundsation show a great one. See you there!(9/5)




  • Senior Class Apparel will go on sale during the month of October. Please be sure to listen to the announcements to find out where you can pick up order forms and pay.(9/11)




  • NHS Just a reminder that all National Honor Society applications are due to the Attendance Office no later than 3 PM on Thursday, September 11th. That deadline is firm.(9/11)



  • CARE The first meeting of CARE (Cultural Awareness, Race, and Equality), originally scheduled for September 4th has been rescheduled for Thursday, September 11th, at 3:05 in Room B105. If you enjoy discussing any of these topics, this is the club for you. Questions? See junior, Lindsay Mink or club advisor, Ms. Fine. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details!   • Library Attention students! Did you know the library sells supplies you may need? We have pencils, binders, notebooks, flash drives, and more - all at a reasonable price! The complete list of supplies is posted in the library and will be sent to your student email within the week.(9/5)




  • Book Club Anyone interested in joining book club or library club should attend our first meeting of the year this Friday, September 5th after school in the library! All are welcome!(9/5)




  • School Pictures for Brush High School students will be taken by Life Touch Pictures.

    • Retakes for all grades will be taken on October 9, 2014.


  • Homecoming:

    • Voting for the Top 25 will take place this Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7. Voting is done on computer either at school or in the privacy of your home. Friday morning, your homeroom teachers will have an explanation sheet as to how to vote. In addition, there will be a special announcement on Friday outlining the procedure. This is an all school vote so please exercise your right to vote. The Top 25 candidates appreciate your support.(9/5)




    • Homecoming tickets will be sold starting on September 8, 2014 through September 18, 2014 during all lunch periods. Tickets are $20 for each ticket. Also, on September 15, 2015 the new DJ will be previewing their Homecoming repertoire in the commons of the lunchroom. We ask that all students during this DJ preview act in a correct manner so more Brush student centered events may take place during the school year. Student Congress is working hard to promote school spirit and to stage excellent events for the Brush community. Thank you for your support!



    • Attention: Student Congress needs a male and female vocalist to sing at the Homecoming Assembly. The song this year is "Almost Is Never Enough" by Arianna Grande. Please sign up to audition in Mr. Laplanche's room - D-210. There will be two audition dates, September 4 and September 11. We are counting on the excellent Brush talent to stage this song for the assembly. Sign up now!(9/10)




  • Open House Mark your calendar! Open House will take place on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 6:30pm! On Thursday in your First Period Class, you will receive an Open House/Homecoming information sheet. Please share with your parents the dates and times for Open ouse na Hou House on the 10th and the Homecoming weekend events.(9/10)


SPORTS:


  • Volleyball hosted Valley Forge yesterday and although all teams displayed significant improvement, neither varsity, JV nor freshmen competed well enough to win. They hope to figure it out today at practice and Saturday when they play at home starting at 9 (JV) and 10 (varsity).(9/5)




  • Cheerleading: Cheer tryouts started Monday, Tues and Wed starting at 4pm in the East Gym. Tryouts will be for JV and Freshman only.(9/8)



  • Varsity Games Today:

      • Boys Varsity Football @ Lakeside High School 7:00pm

    • Saturday

      • Cross Country @ Brecksville 9:00 am

      • Girls Varsity Volleyball vs Cornerstone Christian Academy Home-Welser Gym 10:00 am

      • Boys Varsity Soccer vs Lakeside High School Home-Korb Field 7:00pm

For all other sporting events please, students follow your schedule according to your sport. Staff, please refer to the SEL Website.
