November 22, 2008 Dear Contenders: It’s time again for Greater Moncton’s finest grey matter to battle it out for the title of “Greatest Brain of Greater Moncton” at the 8th Annual Battle of the Brains. Defending champions, Atlantic Lottery Commission Community Crusaders went head to head with 15 other contenders and the Spielo Slot Jockeys were crowned the 2008 Battle of the Brains Champions. Will Spielo Slot Jockeys be crowned again or will a new contender take the belt? WHAT? *8th Annual YMCA Battle of the Brains WHO? *Teams of 6 (19 years and older) WHEN? *Saturday, March 21st, 2009 at 7:00 pm (Snow Date March 28th, 2008) WHERE? *YMCA of Greater Moncton 30 War Veteran’s Ave. Since our first Battle of the Brains event in 2002 the YMCA has raised over $50,000 for its Community Development Department which provides quality outreach services for the YMCA ReConnect (street outreach), Youth Tutor Clubs (youth literacy), Community Adult Learning Program (adult literacy), Community Caring Food Bank and the Community Garden. We’re inviting you to help us reach our goal of $18,000.00 for this year’s event. We have capped registration at 30 teams, with a maximum of 6 people per team. Enclosed please find a team registration kit which includes event details, a registration form, pledge forms, and “Rules of the Ring” to get everyone hyped up about the big event!! Team captains need only to select 5 people to participate and come up with a catchy, “brainy” team name.
