Aim: To determine the type of inter-molecular forces present in various substances
Introduction
You are supplied with four different substances. You are required to determine the type of bonds present in each of the substances.
Procedure
A spatula with load of each substance was placed in a clean dry test tube. Each substance was heated for approximately one minute.
A spatula with half load of each substance was added approximately 10cm3 of distilled water. It was attempted to dissolve the substance.
Steps 2 was repeated but with the use of supplied organic solvent.
