2017Atlantic Table Tennis Championships

MAY 19-21, 2017

BIRCHWOOD INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

Entry Deadline:

All entires by NS team players must be submitted to Joe Fisher on or before the April 22nd event in Middle Musquodoboit.
General Information
ALL NS team members MUST submit their entry through NSTTA by April 23rd. Other players may submit their individual entries (accompanied by full payment) by Monday, April 24th. Please send entries to: NAJAM CHISHTI by e-mail: najam.chishti@hotmail.com
The Atlantic Championship will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the ITTF and TTC. PEITTA assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to participants or their property. All participants, upon entering the championship agree to abide by all the rules for the championship as outlined in the entry form.

Tournament Location:

The tournament will be held at BirchWood Intermediate School on Longworth Avenue The gym will be open for practice on Friday May 19th, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM.


Accommodation:

Please Book your accommodation to any of these hotels in Charlottetown, Rodd Royalty INN, Queens Arm INN, Comfort INN, Quality INN and suites. Holiday INN. All these are within 10 minutes to the Gym.



Banquet:

The banquet will be buffet style at Quality INN at 7:45 pm on Saturday May 20th. All participants are encouraged to attend as some awards will be presented. Cost is $ 30.00


Equipment, Racket & Clothing:

Tables: Stiga Expert and Stag Balls: Butterfly *** G40 +WHITE

It is the sole responsibility of the players to see that rackets and clothing meet the requirements set by ITTF Laws and Regulations. The referee or the assistant referee makes the final decision on the legality of the rackets and clothing.


Jury Meeting:

The jury meeting will be held on Friday May 19th at 7:45 PM at 40 Enman Cres. Sports PEI building, Room 2L. Each province with participating players is entitled to ONE VOTE. The referee will chair the meeting.


AWARDS:

Awards will be presented to the winner and runner up in each Team and Individual events.


DISCIPLINE

Players showing bad behaviour or act in unlike sportsmanship, that may unfairly affect an opponent, offend spectators, or bring the game into disrepute are subject to warnings, penalties/ or disqualifications as outlined by the ITTF regulation 3.5.2

The default time will be FIVE minutes past initial announcement of a match.
ELIGIBILITY

* Proof of eligibility may be requested prior to the championships.

* All competitors must be members in good standing of their respective provinces.

* All competitors must be Canadian Citizens or landed immigrants with at least six months residence in their respective province.

* For age restricted events, the athlete(s) must meet the age requirement as of Jan1, 2017

* For rating restricted events, the latest TTC ratings will be used. If a player does not have a rating, then the tournament committee may assign an estimated rating for that player and remove him/her from any event(s) for which he/she would then become ineligible.


DRAW

The tournament referee or his designate will conduct the draw for the team and individual events. A copy of the draw will be sent to team managers as indicated on the team entry form at least one week prior to the start of the competition. Please inform of any omissions or changes required (needed).


TEAM EVENTS:

* Men‘s,Women’s, Junior Men’s (U-18), Junior Women’s (U-18). Cadet Boys and Girls (15)

* All members of the Senior team must enter the championship singles. All members of Junior team must enter the U-18 singles.

* Each competing team must have no fewer than THREE and no more than FOUR players.

* If a province does not send a team in a particular category, then the host province reserves the right to enter “B” team in that category, OR as mutually agreed upon by provinces.

* Format will be Swaythling Cup style; A vsX, B vsY; BC vs XZ; AvsY; C vs Z. Each match will be three out of five games.

Individual Events:

Players may enter a Maximum of FIVE events, Not more than (3) singles) or (3) doubles.

The tournament committee reserves the right to cancel an event due to insufficient entries.

All singles events will have a round robin of (3), if possible in the preliminary rounds and a single elimination style thereafter.


All matches will be best of 3 out of 5 to Eleven points, except the finals of the Men’s and women’s Championship Singles which will be 4 out of 7 games.

All players must umpire upon request by the control desk.
SEEDING:

For the Men’s and Women’s Championship Singles and the under 18 Singles only:

* Defendin Champions will be seeded first

* Seeding by Association (ITTF3.6.3) will be used after the defending champions have been placed.
