AbstractThis paper deals with the use of computers by magistrates working in high volume courts. In Part 1 the author examines new demands being placed on magistrates courts as communities enter the Information Age. In Part 2 the author looks at using personal computers inside and outside the court room while working as a magistrate in South Australia, and discusses key factors to consider when using computers as tools.
