| CASE Construction and ADS supply 22 Backhoe Loaders 580N to United Nations for AFRICAP Program
Our CASE Construction Equipment Government Sales office has recently partnered with ADS, a globally operating company which cooperates with US Government departments. ADS is specialized in contracts supplying with the US Federal Government, in this instance the need was for a UN Mission in Mali and the products that they needed were, among others, construction equipment. ADS was able to supply 22 580N backhoes from CASE Construction. The supply contract that ADS was supporting through other UN Africa regional contractors was related to the AFRICAP (Africa Peacekeeping Program). Here is an overview of that program: Africa Peacekeeping Program (AFRICAP) program covers much of the security assistance, work being requested throughout the continent of Africa. The program enhances African countries ability to conduct peacekeeping operations and builds African capacities for crisis management and counter terrorism. One of the program’s key objectives is regional peace and stability. DOS uses its peacekeeping operations (PKO) funds to advance that goal by undertaking training of armed forces, enhancing their ability to deploy by land, air and sea. The purpose of the contracts is to establish an ordering mechanism to provide training and advisory services, equipment procurement, logistical support services, and construction services to African countries. AFRICAP contractors also work with regional organizations to enhance their abilities to prevent, manage, and resolve conflict and supporting peacekeeping and peace building operations. Following this wake CASE also provided 22 sets of spare parts and basic maintenance items with each backhoe. Each backhoe was assigned a “parts package”. This was a great opportunity to provide some of CASE best Equipment units to the United Nations showcasing CASE proactivity on global peace building challenge.
