CAU Athletics Participates in Health Awareness Initiative

ATLANTA, Ga. – On Monday, March 29th Clark Atlanta University’s SAAC participated in a health and fitness awareness initiative, hosted by Visions Unlimited and the Atlanta Falcons.
The 2nd Annual 3Rs' of Fitness, Run, Refresh & Recycle took place at A.F. Herndon Middle School. The event was a preview of the summer camp activities put on by the Visions Summer Camp program and the Atlanta Falcons Fitness Zones. The activities involved station by station of fitness activities for youth, a fitness run and a flag football game. Some of the Atlanta Falcons were present and served as coaches for the flag football game and football throw challenge.
CAU SAAC members Ke’Lana Fordham, Krysta McGowan and Lachelle Sutphen assisted with the jump rope, football throw and aerobic stations. They also were responsible for taking winners of the relay races to pick up their prizes. The day ended with refreshing the children with milk and cheese products and a dance performance.
“We are truly grateful to CAU and their constant willingness to give back to the community. This was truly a great event for all involved and we thank CAU Athletics for their support,” said Patt Cobb, Senior Sports Program Director for Visions Unlimited.
