-The general purpose applications include; word processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, and database management systems; while the specialized application are programs that focused more on specific disciplines and occupations like, graphics programs, and web authoring programs. The tradition and ribbon are from the same word processor but different programs. The traditional comes from older software, like “Windows XP or Windows 7,” word processor and “Windows 8” or any other newer programs run Microsoft offices suites, like “Word processor 2013; which has the ribbon graphical user’s interfaces.

Different programs that are similar are; Microsoft words, Corel WordPerfect, apple pages, Open office writer, and Google docs. Spreadsheets has three different programs; Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, and OpenOffice Calc. The primary purpose of spreadsheets is to organize, analyze, and graph numerical data. Microsoft PowerPoint, OpenOffice Impress, or Apple Keynote are different data programs use for the presentation graphic application, which purpose is to create visual presentation by combining a variety of visual objects. Last the database management systems (DBMS) is a collection of related data that is stored in a virtual electric file cabinet.

-Specialized application, are programs that is focusing more on disciplines and occupations. “Graphic Programs” are programs that use many visual and graphic editing application. Desktop Publishing Programs, Image Editing Programs, Image Galleries, and Illustration Programs are all part of graphic programs. The “Desktop Publishing Programs” use text and graphics to create newsletters, newspaper textbooks, etc. Some of the most known programs for Desktop Publishing Programs are Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, and QuarkXPress. “Image Editors” which uses programs like Adobe Photoshop or Windows Live Photo Gallery is use to edit, modify, or clear up digital photographs (when zooming in), since all digital photos have thousands of pixels that form bitmap. Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape, are programs for “Illustration Programs;” which is use to draw program, create and edit geometric shapes and objects. Two parts of “Image Galleries” are Stock photographs and Clip art, which has a library’s of electronic images. It’s used for a variety of other applications. “Web Authoring Programs” is when a user is creating a site; during then they design and edit a page, and have document file displaying website’s content. -Mobile apps are add-on application usually run on smartphones or tablet. The Apple Company have over 500,000 apps for iPhone and iPad’s which consist of videos, media, games, QR codes, and social networking’s. There are two other types of app from Google Play and Window Phone Marketplace.

-“Software suites” are a bundle of separate application programs purchase together or in groups. “Office suites” contain generalize-application such as Microsoft Office, Apple iWork, or OpenOffice. “Cloud suites” are; Google Docs (Making IT Work for You), Zoho, Microsoft Web Apps. The google doc (Making IT Work for You) are tools use to share data with other end users. “Corel Draw Graphics Suite X6” and “Moneyfree Software TOTAL Planning Suite” are two “Specialized suites.” The software called “Norton Systems Works” and “Norton Internet Security suite” are two different “Utility suites.”
