Dear Congressman/woman / General / Chief [Last Name],
As an active member of [BBYO, the world’s leading pluralistic Jewish youth leadership movement], I will be joining nearly 14,000 Jewish teens from more than 20 countries around the world as we come together in the spring with a common mission: to make an impact in the community through service. We’ll do so by participating in J-Serve – the annual International Day of Jewish Youth Service; the teen component of Good Deeds Day and the Jewish service component of Youth Service America’s annual Global Youth Service Day.
My fellow teen leaders and I would like to invite you and/or your staff to join us in service by taking part in our upcoming J-Serve event, scheduled to take place from [TIME – TIME] on [DATE] at [LOCATION + ADDRESS].
We, as Jewish teens and the future leaders of our world, are committed to changing the game in our community through direct service as part of J-Serve [City Name] 2018. This year’s program will include [brief description], and will serve as one of more than 400 international projects in which 6th through 12th grade teens will participate around the world while exploring the Jewish values of gemilut chasidim, acts of loving kindness; tzedakah, just and charitable giving; and tikkum olam, the responsibility to repair the world.
Over the past thirteen years, Jewish youth from around the world have turned out in force for J‑Serve in an effort to encourage community building and connections across religious and societal lines.  Since its inception in 2005, J-Serve has experienced extraordinary growth: a 150% increase in community participation, a 260% increase in teen engagement and a 900% increase in countries involved. On its fourteenth anniversary this year, even more growth is expected – and we would love nothing more than to have you (and/or your staff, as available) stand side-by-side with us as we work to make our community a better place.
Together, we can lead by example as the true gamechangers we are to instill the importance of service throughout our community. We hope you will you accept our invitation and inspire your colleagues to participate, as well. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration; we look forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,
