PEPSICO FRITO-LAY, Miami, FL Sr. Facilities Operations Manager 2015-2016

Lead all operations functions at the Frito-Lay Miami DC, which is one of the largest and highest performing Frito-Lay DCs annually in the Southeast Region. Included managing a Distribution team of over 50 employees and 4 direct reports . Total zone accountability included an Annual Operating Plan of $6+ million for the DC and 7 bin locations from Miami to the Florida Keys, FL . Key responsibilities included:


  • Directly hiring, managing, motivating and developing the operations workforce to ensure planned goals for production.

  • Partner with region RSFT points to perform site accelerations and interventions to address outages and increase South East region service performance

  •  Performing daily performance reviews to optimize performance and solve day-to-day operational issues to win each day.

  • Partnering with the local Sales team to achieve volume and service level goals to ensure cost to serve targets

  •  Executing initiatives to ensure OSHA workplace safety and regulatory compliance are met at the highest quality

  •  Lead the Distribution Center food defense and safety AIB program with an average rating of "Excellent"

  • Provide overall leadership, P+L responsibilities and direction to warehouse team members across multiple locations and Bins

  • Managed and resolved building issues for capital projects to upgrade processing and packaging to produce annual savings

STATE TO STATE TRANSPORTATION, Orlando, FL Sr. Operations Manager 2011-2015

Responsible for the logistics, customer delivery operations and account payable/receivables. In charge of making sure that each stage of the distribution process is progressing on time, on budget and to the right quality standards. Visiting key clients to build relationships and identify their key needs. Involved in strategic development and strategy making in new business development and sales.




  • Lead and motivated the entire transport team and responsible for looking after 25+ vehicles with a 24 hour operation.

  • Successfully kept a regular track of preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles to stay in compliance with DOT regulations.

  • Managed all associated transportation costs as per the given budget and consistently stayed within budget annually.

  • Assisted in negotiating contracts and rates with independent owner operators and Carriers for pickup and delivery of goods.

  • Increased gross profits from 3 million to 4 million by establishing new 10 business segments and capital improvements.



ESPN WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS, Lake Buena Vista, FL Operations Manager 2008-2011

In 2008 and 2009 received the performance grade of "Continues to Exceeds Expectation" for the noted accomplishments. Involved in the executive management and daily operation for a fast-paced facility that encompasses 47 square miles of sports and recreational activities and has hosted over 2 million athletes from over 70 countries competing in 55+ sports. Major clients include the Amateur Athletic Association, Pop Warner Little Scholars, and the Atlanta Braves. Provided direction to union personnel and managers on customer service approaches to ensure customer retention. Encouraged and promoted 4 direct reports to managers within 2 years.


  • Assigned responsibility for coordinating logistical and procurement support for the 2009 & 2010 Atlanta Braves, the 2010 Marathon and numerous yearly events. Successfully streamlined processes by improving the bidding and change order

processes, as well as the utilization of existing labor and materials, resulting in savings of approximately $350,000 annually.

  • Effectively managed 4 new business developments with vendors and existing business efforts, ensuring the efficient planning, organization and execution of a wide variety of events. Partnered with emergency personnel and facility maintenance to ensure the facility was audit ready at all times.

  • Instrumental in facilitating, negotiating and monitoring the Valet program with a third party vendor. As a team,

  • achieved $10,000 savings on budgeted labor cost for the program that currently generates monthly revenues of $20,000 with projected earnings of $30,000 per month.

  • Assisted with all levels of management within the company to drive the financial performance and capital improvements in multiple departments such as food/beverage, merchandising, and facilities services for guest of the facility.

HARRIS ENTERPRISES, Baltimore, MD Project Manager/Quality Control Manager 2002-2008 In 2004 and 2005 Recognized by the Project Director for “Outstanding Leadership”. Achieved annual saving on a $3 million budget for labor operations for this (8A)government contracting firm. Accountable for managing up to 50 subcontractors in the Shipping & Receiving Departments that handled documents and FF&E materials used by the Social Security Administration (SSA), both internationally and domestically. Duties included developing and maintaining superior customer service with internal and external partners. Effectively supervised direct reports on daily production activities, order picking, stocking, receiving, replenishment, cycle counts via inventory systems, handling route management with bulk items , ensuring the quality, safety and on-time delivery of five distribution sites. In addition worked closely with IT specialists to ensure on-time deliverables.

  • Effectively led facilities through audits by the Social Security Administration; each resulting in the highest possible rating.

  • Instrumental in substantially increasing productivity by re-engineering work flow while reducing labor by 20%.

  • Successfully monitored contract for compliance through proposal lifecycle for completion of task orders and on time submission, performance, scope of work related specifications and prepared monthly reports for Contracting Officer(SSA).
