Greenville Splash Masters coach recognized nationally

U.S. Masters Swim program awards Leslie Scott for program development

GREENVILLE, SC Sept. 19, 2012 – The Greenville Splash Masters head coach received national attention at the U.S. Masters Swim national convention last week.


Leslie Scott, who coaches at the YMCA of Greenville received the Kerry O’Brien Coaches Award at the U.S. Masters Swim convention in Greenboro, N.C. The Kerry O’Brien Coaches Award recognizes programs growing programs across the country.
Leslie puts the personal touch in the program that goes well beyond going out on the deck and posting a workout on the boad,” said Carolyn Moore, who a Y Splash Masters coach at the GHS Family Y. “She embodies what the Y is all about in providing a safe place for members to feel good about themselves and challenge themselves.”
The Greenville Splash Masters meets at the Caine Halter Family Y in downtown Greenville and the GHS Family Y in Simpsonville. It is one of more than 700 U.S. Masters Swim programs.
YMCA Splash Masters is a competitive adult swimming program for anyone 18 years old or older of any swimming skill level. Members get expert coaching on swim training techniques, stroke mechanics, and fitness goal-setting.
U.S. Masters Swimming was founded in 1970 and is a membership-operated governing body that promotes health, wellness, fitness, and competition for adults through swimming by partnering with more than 1,500 adult swim programs across the country.
