Brief Description

A condensed combination of introductory Pre-Calculus.

Course Description:
Covers basic concepts of Pre-Calculus applications.
|
Objective:
The objectives of this course will provide students the opportunity to understand and utilize rational functions, the unit circle, and their relationships.

Course Requirements:

A course notebook for recording notes, examples, assignments, homework and announcements

Regular Class Attendance

A scientific calculator may be required.

No cell phones may be turned on or used during class time.

No food or drinks are allowed in the classroom.

Teaching/Learning Methods:
The course will include lectures and student participatory activities. Exposure to and use of technology will be an integral part of the course.

Course Outline

Investigate functions.

Use the circle to define the trigonometric functions

Investigate and use the graphs of the six trigonometric functions

Establish trigonometric identities and use them to simplify trigonometric expressions and verify equivalence statements

Solve trigonometric equations both graphically and algebraically

Use sequences and series
