Worked as a Researcher at, a) the Ecole Polytechnique, Paris (Centre de Recherche en Gestion, CRG), b) at MIT (Research Program on Communication Policy, RPCP at CTPID), where he has contributed to the foundation of the MIT Internet Telecommunications Convergence Consortium MIT-ITC and, c) at ICS-Forth (Greece).
In the last years, served as, a) Principal Investigator for LGAF Project – which aims at implementing “BPM over SOA” solutions for e-government purposes and, b) as project evaluator for FET-Open Programme (EU ICT).
Since October 2010, he represents Greece in the ISA Interoperability (Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations, EC).
Since 2012, he actively participates in STORK2.0 EU Project - Secure idenTity acrOss boRders linKed 2.0 (2012-2015).
He also collaborates with the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), the Greek Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) and NTUA (Infostrag) in the definition of a new industrial policy for the ITC sector in Greece (since 2011).
Key qualifications:
Have worked collaboratively with those producing the best practice in Greece and across the EU for making “smart government” through sophisticated online services.
Have led several R&D projects and technology transfer projects in EU and Greece.
Have participated in high-level EU expert groups (P. Kavassalis, 2007, Report on Key Technologies in Communications, in the context of the initiative "Key Technologies for Europe" Expert Group European Commision - RTD).
Have led e-learning projects in the domains of Business Process Management for smart government and Knowledge Intensive Services.
Has published papers in internationally recognized scientific journals and has made numerous presentations in international conferences and seminars (as invited speaker).
Strong technical knowledge and experience in the fields of Information Management, Business Process Modelling and Automation, Document Engineering, Identity and Privacy Management, Digital Economies and Technology Markets, and on the Economics and Policy for Industrial and Technical Change in the ICT sector.
