POSTSEASON BOUND: The Somerset Patriots won the 1st Half Liberty Division Title. It’s the franchises 13th Half Title and first half title win since 2010. In the 2-3 first round format the Patriots have elected to have the back three games at home so they’ll open up on the road starting September 24th.

BIG JON: Jon Hunton leads the Atlantic League with 44 saves. That’s 16 more than anyone else. On August 24th he set the Atlantic League single season record for most saves in a year breaking Mike Guilfoyle’s record of 40 that was accomplished in 2003 with Bridgeport.

28 RETIRED: On June 14th, Manager Emeritus Sparky Lyle became the 1st ever Patriot to have his number retired. Lyle amassed 1,025 wins as Somerset skipper and won five AL championships. He was the first ever employee of the Somerset Patriots back in 1998.
