Note:

All relevant national standards and regulations for sports halls have to be taken into account.
Separate tenders should be prepared for sealing between frame and substructure. The same applies to the installation of window sills and window drips. Furthermore, details need to be indicated concerning: type of structure, location of building site, conditions on building site, breast height of glazing measured from ground level, scaffolding and usage of same, provision of assistance to help with unloading etc., times when work is to be performed and when interrupted, supply of electrical power, type of breast and lintel structure, material .................................. (should be indicated) with due consideration given to horizontal wind forces; ventilation shutter units should be included as supplementary items. Pilkington Profilit™ glass and frame profiles must be protected from soiling (e.g. from mortar, etc.) while construction work is in progress. Special mention must be made of any potential application of workplace- and energy saving regulations.

Since regulations give no guidance with specific regard to profile-type glazing surface, the following procedure has been adopted up until now in terms of the size of the glazed area (providing no other procedure has been prescribed):

a) if the architect concerned is inviting tenders for an approximate area (e.g. approx. 100m² glass), the height nearest to the one required that can be divided by 25 cm should be taken for calculation purposes, whereas the width calculation should be based on the full width of the given glass units encompassing the requisite glass type.
b) if the clear sizes of the openings of the required glazing are indicated, then the waste quantities can be taken into account in the calculation and the clear sizes used as the basis of the costs charged.

IV) General text for tender (recommendations) for Pilkington Profilit™ pivoted casements, for installation in Pilkington Profilit™ glass walls (standard profiles - series 60)
a) not thermally broken

Item 2) additional cost of supply and as extra, professional installation of skylight opener, galvanised with gloss finish, complete with 2 adjustment plates in the wing unit located on the side at the bottom, lateral shaft 15/3 mm, bar pull 12 mm up to 2,0 m long, anodised aluminium hand lever, opening width 300 mm, max. width 1600 mm. If, in case of pivoting wing, top-hung sash or pivot –hung window, the hand lever from the bar of the skylight opener needs to be mounted on the side part of the H-frame, then the lateral shaft must be fitted to the left or to the right, and the hand lever needs to be cranked as per existing soffit. The customer should indicate this when placing his order.
