http://www.indiegogo.com

Closes: Ongoing

Funding: No limit. Free to join with a fee on money raised. Two options - a flexible option where you can take proceeds minus fees even if you don’t reach your target, or a Fixed funding option which is all or nothing.

How it works: People set up their campaign online with a fundraising goal and deadline and perks. Perks give contributors an additional non-monetary incentive to support your campaign. Funds available: No maximum (NB: Kickstarter gets a 5% fee for projects funded.)

Closes: Ongoing, Creators set the time imit.

Purpose: Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects - everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology.

Every project creator sets their project's funding goal and deadline. If people like the project, they can pledge money to make it happen. If the project succeeds in reaching its funding goal, all backers' credit cards are charged when time expires. If the project falls short, no one is charged. Funding on Kickstarter is all-or-nothing.
