Intervals
Intervals can be major or minor, or perfect. You can take them up or down from here by augmenting them or diminishing them. Eg; C-G is a perfect 5th. C-Gb is a diminished 5th. C-G# is an augmented 5th. C-E is a major 3rd. C-Eb is a minor 3rd. C-Ebb is a diminished 3rd – but this is unusual. Generally it would be called D and a major 2nd.
