World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly
(WTSA-2000)
(Montreal, 27 September – 6 October 2000)

CTITU B15 of 19.IX.2000:

The Administration of Canada announces that during the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-2000) (Montreal, Quebec), the Canadian Government, under terms provided by the Canadian Host Committee, will issue telephone calling cards with a value of twenty (20) minutes to all delegates. In addition to most telephones throughout the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) area, the delegates’ telecommunication centre will be equipped to accept calling cards. As such, telephone calls will not be placed through an operator, but will be dialled directly by the individual using the card. These cards may be used to call any local and international destination.

East Timor


Communication of 14.IX.2000:

Legal time in East Timor (which currently corresponds to UTC +8 hours) will be advanced by 60 minutes from 16 September 2000 at 0001 hours, local time (1601 hours UTC on 15 September 2000) and thereby will correspond to UTC +9 on a permanent basis.

Deutsche Telekom AG, Darmstadt, announces that owing to the closure of the international telegram service in Germany on 1 January 2001, the telegram destination indicator DP allocated to Germany and the office code “DPXX / All destinations” used in the telegram retransmission system, will be deleted on 1 January 2001 at 0000 hours UTC.

Barbados


Communication of 19.VII.2000*:

Cable & Wireless Caribbean Cellular (Barbados) Ltd, Bridgetown, announces that collect calls to the following cellular numbering ranges in Barbados are not admitted, with effect from 1 August 2000.

These mobile number ranges are:

232 1000 to 232 5999 inclusive,
233 9000 to 233 9999 inclusive,
230 7000 to 230 8999 inclusive and
231 8000 to 231 8999.

Barbados is in the world zone 1 area (country code +1) and the numbering plan area (NPA) code is 246. Differentiation is made by the applicable central office codes within the area of the 246 NPA code.

The central office codes (NXX's) 230 to 234 are allocated to mobile radiocommunication services of Barbados.

Operator assisted calls including credit card, collect and third party calls, will be dialled with a prefix “0” and ten digits, i.e.: 0 NPA NXX XXXX.

(b) Speak Easy (GSM prepaid SIM card) service is a facility offered even to temporary users. Prepaid cards can be bought on payment of Dhs 300 and can be revalidated through payment.

Collect calls are not allowed from and to the Al Wasel and Speak Easy customers.

Restructuring of the Group of companies

RETEVISIÓN I, S.A., Madrid, announces that, as a consequence of the restructuring of its Group of companies, RETEVISIÓN, S.A. (henceforth, Auna Operadores de Telecomunicaciones, S.A.) has assigned to RETEVISIÓN I, S.A. the branch of activity consisting in the provision of telecommunication services and network installation and operation, pursuant to the agreement by the Board (Junta General) of 21 June 2000.
