JCC Associations Graduate Scholarship is designed to help future JCC professionals deepen and enhance their professional knowledge in order to prepare for a career at a JCC. Graduate students pursuing their first degree in a subject area that would enrich the work of the JCC Movement are encouraged to apply!

This scholarship is awarded to 4-6 qualified candidates over a maximum period of two years ($10,000 maximum per school year), depending on eligibility. Applications are due February 1, 2017. Applicants who are moved to the next round of interviews will be notified by March to select a date and time for a Skype interview. The last and final round of interviews is in-person with the Scholarship Committee at JCC Association’s offices in New York City in April 2017 (tbd).

Upon completion of graduate school, scholarship awardees are required to fulfill a
two year work commitment at an affiliated JCC. If the scholarship recipient is unable to fulfill this requirement, the full scholarship must be paid back within (3) months.

The three case studies and directions for completion can be found on the website: http://www.jccworks.com/?P=gM28CBC3

Essay
There are four areas that your essay must cover:

  1. The specific source of your interest in becoming a JCC professional

  2. What contribution you hope to make as a professional staff person in a JCC

  3. The area of graduate work you are or will be pursuing and why this area of study will help you become an effective JCC Professional

  4. Any other factor(s) you believe the committee should know about you when considering your application

Please title it “Essay – Your Name”. Be sure that it does not exceed two pages. It must be typed and emailed to Shecht@jcca.org with the rest of your application, case study, references and transcript.
