'These charters [GBR/368 and KCAR/6/2/69/1/2/4 364-367, 369] of Bricet Priory were removed by a builder from Horstead House, Norfolk, and were found among rubble in a pit at St Faith's, near Norwich, by a schoolmaster and children of the Secondary Modern School, Helesden, Norwich, in 1948. They were passed to the Norfolk Record Society, examined by Miss L.J. Redstone, County Archivist of Suffolk, and finally handed over to the College Muniment Room by the Norfolk Record Society in January, 1950.' Note by John Saltmarsh, KCAR/6/2/69/1/2/4 GBR/370.
