Our Clinic Committee would like to extend an invitation to you to attend a truly unique football officiating clinic. We have assembled an outstanding group of nationally prominent officials, observers and supervisors who are planning to share their experience, philosophy and knowledge with each of you for an entire day. You will have an opportunity to meet, greet and eat with members of our clinic staff and guests as well as collegiate and high school Conference Officiating Coordinators.”

 

The Program will include group sessions, position meetings, and special instruction on all areas of officiating including a seven man and five man mechanics review. Imagine a full day of sharing lessons with NFL, Division I Collegiate and State Championship Football Officials. Plus, both lunch and dinner will be followed by presentations from our renowned guest speakers. It doesn’t get any better than this!!

2008 Guest Speaker

Gerald Austin

NFL Referee

Gerald is a veteran NFL referee with over 20 years in the league.  He has been assigned to officiate 3 Super Bowls, 2 as referee and 1 as side judge, and has also officiated numerous playoff games.  Prior to joining the NFL staff, Gerald officiated basketball as well as football for the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Gerald is the 2005 recipient of the prestigious Art McNally Award, which goes to an NFL game official who exhibits exemplary professionalism, leadership and commitment to sportsmanship on and off the field.

Gerald serves as the Coordinator of Football Officials for Conference USA.

Bill LeMonnier

Referee, Big 10 Conference, AFL, USA Football Officiating Consultant

Bill presently serves as a Referee for the Big 10 Conference as well as the Arena Football League.  In his 15 seasons with the Big 10, Bill has been honored with 12 Bowl assignments.  These include the Fiesta Bowl [3 times], the Orange Bowl [twice], the Cotton Bowl, the Holiday Bowl [twice], the Pigskin Classic, the Texas Bowl, the GMAC Bowl and the Independence Bowl. 


 
Bill has worked 8 seasons in the AFL and served as the referee for Arena Bowl XVII.
 
Bill was also selected to work the 2007 World Cup of American Football Championships in Kawasaki, Japan.
 

Bill presently serves as an Officiating Consultant for USA Football.  An outreach group sponsored by the NFL Youth Foundations, USA Football assists youth football organizations across the country with league organization, coaching, player safety and officiating.

Dave Parry

National Coordinator Collegiate Football Officiating, LLC., National Coordinator CAA Football Officiating,, Big 10 Commissioner

 

Dave has been appointed the first National Coordinator of Collegiate Football Officials, LLC., a partnership between the NCAA and Collegiate Commissioner's Association [CAA] established to ensure consistent applications of the playing rules and mechanics by officials working collegiate football.  Dave also serves as the National Coordinator for CAA football Officiating and Coordinator of Football Officials for the Big 10 conference. 



 

Dave was a member of the staff of the NFL for 15 seasons.  He officiated 14 play-off games, 4 conference and Super Bowl XVII.

 

Dave serves as coordinator of football supervisors for the CAA.  This organization produces officiating manuals and develops officiating techniques and philosophies which promote consistency, uniformity and standardization in football officiating.



 

Dave has also served as a representative to the NCAA Football Rules Committee and Editorial Sub-committee.  In this capacity, he assisted with the review and revision of the NCAA Football playing rules. 

 

Dave is the recipient of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Outstanding Football Official Award for his contributions to the sport of college football.




Liberty Bell Officials Mentoring Program

     We will continue with our popular mentoring program which is available to all attendees interested.  You will be introduced to either a high school varsity or Division I officiating mentor depending upon your current officiating level and advancement aspiration.  This mentor would be available to assist you through this year with advice, instruction, high school and collegiate scrimmage teaching opportunities and seasonal game observations. When you return your application, you may request us to select a mentor to work with you immediately this spring and fall.  This will be a great program for all aspiring officials to gain invaluable individual experience and exposure on and off the field.  Space is limited.  Don’t wait!!!
