2014 GLIAC Championship Tournament: Friday, Oct. 10 – Monday, Oct. 13
Discussion Item Summary
Discussion Item #1: Changes in All-GLIAC Requirements if not all GLIAC teams can participate in Regional events.
The coaches decided that no action was necessary at this time. Dean Ellis is working
on a site in Calumet City, IL that could host all GLIAC and GLVC teams (Harborside International) for the Fall Regional event. We are working with the GLVC coaches to make room for all GLIAC teams at the Spring Regional events.
Discussion Item #2: Do we want to allow two coaches per team at GLIAC hosted events?
The NCAA now allows two coaches per team at the Super Regionals and Championships. The coaches decided to table this discussion until this spring. A few coaches volunteered to research this topic to discover what the requirements are to be labeled an “Assistant Coach”.
Discussion Item #3: GLIAC Spring 2013 Event
Darby Roggow (TU), Darrin Jones (AU) and Chris Deibel (ODU) are still in the process of securing a course for the GLIAC Spring 2013 Event. The coaches have six courses that are currently interested in hosting the event and should have the course selected in the next few weeks. The coaches will get the info out to the rest of the coaches after the holiday break.
