Dear Parents/Guardians:
Our first day of school is fast approaching! We look forward to seeing our students in grades 1 through 12 on Wed., Aug. 28th. Students in grades 1 through 4 should report to the Multi-Purpose Room and students in grades 5 and 6 should report to the Gym on the first day of school. The school day will begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 2:55 p.m.
Back to School Night for grades 1 and 2 will be held on Tues., Sept. 3rd at 6:00 p.m. Back to School Night for grades 3 and 4 will be on Wed., Sept. 5th at 6:00 p.m., and Back to School Night for grades 5 and 6 will be held on Mon., Sept. 9th at 6:00 p.m.
Breakfast will not be served on the first day of school, Wed., Aug. 28th. However, lunch can be obtained on the first day of school by depositing money into your child’s existing MealPay Plus account or by pre-paying via check made payable to MaST Community Charter School. Any balance that you had in your MealPay Plus account at the end of June will roll over into your account for the new school year. Meals will be provided through the Free and Reduced Price Meals Program for students who previously qualified. Breakfast will be served beginning on Thurs.,

Aug. 29th. Your child’s 7 digit PIN number used in the lunchroom will be provided to him/her on the first day of school. We want to remind you that MaST will not accept cash for the purchase of breakfast or lunch.

The School District of Philadelphia has made some changes to our bus routes. To and from bus service will be provided by Class I or Atlantic Express Bus Company. Information concerning your child’s bus route will follow by separate letter. Please note that no changes can be made prior to the start of the school year.
If your child is in grade 1 through 8 and will not be riding the yellow bus home from school, please send a note to your child’s homeroom teacher on the first day of school informing the teacher that your child will be a “parent pick up”. Without a note from you to the contrary, we will assume your child will be riding the bus home.
If your child will be attending the After Care program, we ask that you send a note to your child’s homeroom teacher so he/she is aware.
MaST prides itself in a strong educational philosophy and looks forward to a new school year with new initiatives and positive growth in many of the areas of the school. The members of our key leadership team are:
Ms. Dina Davis, Principal – Grades K to 4

Mr. Jeffrey Hunter, Principal – Grades 5 to 8

Mr. Patrick Golderer, Principal – Grades 9 to 12

Mr. David Fitzpatrick, Director of Pupil Services

Ms. Tarra Gordon, Supervisor of Communications and Program Resources
Very truly yours,

John F. Swoyer, III

Chief Executive Officer
