The August Regional Dinners at BANK Café and Bar Inside The Westin Verasa, Napa Pay Tribute to The French Riviera, Burgundy, Aquitaine and Other Regions of France
The $29 Dinners Combine an Affordable Night on the Town with Armchair Travel Napa, Calif. (July 30, 2010) – Chef Ken Frank continues to pay tribute to a country close to his heart during his weekly Regional Dinners at BANK Café and Bar inside The Westin Verasa, Napa. During the dinners, guests can enjoy delicious and diverse specialties of various regions in France. For only $29 per person, the meals are also an affordable way to enjoy exquisite cuisine. August’s Regional Dinners will feature the following regions and menus:
August 2 - 8, Ken Frank takes diners to Nice on the French Riviera and one of the oldest human settlements in the world. This week’s menu features the Original Salade Nicoise, Lamb with Roasted Garlic and Tomato Confit, and Peach Tart.
August 9 - 15, The Regional Dinners arrive in Nord Pas de Calais, a region in Northern France, bordering Belgium. Diners will find on the menu Smoked Herring and Potato Salad, Carbonnade of Boeuf Flamande, and Crepes au Fruit du Marche.
August 16 - 22, Diners embark on a culinary journey to Aquitaine in the Southwest of France along the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees Mountains on the border with Spain. For starters, they will feast upon Crudités de la Saison followed by a main entrée of Pave de Boeuf Bordelaise and Crème Brulée aux Pêches for dessert. On Friday, August 20, BANK will host a special Winemaker Regional Dinner featuring winemaker Jason Moore and Modus Operandi Cellars, a Napa Valley boutique winery producing a small collection of rare, superior quality selections. Price for the expanded, four-course Winemaker Regional Dinner is $65.
August 23 - 29, the Regional Dinners return to Burgundy, a region of France renowned for its fine wines. Escargots Bourguignonne, Poulet à la Moutarde, and Profiteroles are the featured culinary attractions this week.
August 30 - September 5, the Regional Dinners pay tribute to Auvergne in southcentral France, an area known for it extinct volcanoes, rich history and its cheeses and Charcuterie. The featured menu this week is Terrine of Pork Tongue with Lentils, Daube de Boeuf with Laguiole Potatoes, and Mousse au Chocolat.
