WILTONEDUCATIONFOUNDATION

Dear Wilton business leaders, local families and friends:
On Friday, March 13, the Wilton Education Foundation’s much‐anticipated 5th annual fundraiser, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? overtakes the Clune Center at Wilton High School! Based on the hit TV series, the spirited game show puts Wilton’s brightest 5th graders from Cider Mill on stage to help local celebrity contestants answer questions derived from the school’s challenging curriculum.
This has become one of WEF’s signature events, a much talked-about, highly publicized event. It traditionally SELLS OUT the Clune Center’s 850 seats, helping WEF raise $15-18,000 every year.

Can you help us make Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader 2015 a bigger success than ever before? Here’s how:

  • Advertise in the event program: there are ample opportunities for businesses to reach a local community audience of young families and town officials ($50 1/2-page, $100 full-page)

  • Congratulation messages for student participants: you can offer personal messages of congratulations from friends and family to 5th graders in the program

  • Sponsor a liveaction commercial showcasing your local business onstage between rounds!

WEF’s version is a family-friendly event incorporating Wilton‐specific subjects into the trivia, using the technology that WEF funds for the schools, like SMARTBoards and iPads, during the game.

For the first time, this year we will be having the battle of the schools. Celebs taking the stage this year include Miller Driscoll Assistant Principal Jeremy Cross, Cider Mill Principal Jen Mitchell, Middlebrook Principal Maria Coleman, and Superintendent Kevin Smith. They’ll be joined by quizmaster emcees, Miller-Driscoll teachers Sal Giaimo and Bryan Ennis.
Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? will be publicized on WEF’s website and Facebook page and across local media. Post‐event, town‐wide thank you letters will be published in local media, listing donors and advertisers.
Our advertising deadline is Wednesday, February 19. Wilton Education Foundation’s Federal Tax ID number is 22-3252632. (Please check with your accountant regarding tax deductibility.)
Wilton Education Foundation (WEF) is a non‐profit charitable organization, whose mission is to grant competitive advantages to our schools. The foundation is dedicated to enriching the learning experience of Wilton’s students by providing ongoing professional development for teachers, the latest in innovative and interactive teaching tools, support for music and the arts, and “beyond the classroom” experiences that provide students with the confidence and skills necessary to succeed in college and beyond. Last year, with your help, we were able to donate $100,000 to the schools, to benefit Wilton students, in areas including Technology; Fine and Performing Arts; Science, Engineering and Mathematics; K5 Literacy Materials; and Professional Development.
Many thanks, in advance, for your consideration and support! For more information, visit WEF’s website at www.wiltoneducationfoundation.org or please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.
Sincerely yours,
Scott Weber (sweber@med-iq.com)
