June 17, 2014
OPEN: The regular meeting of the Atlanta City Council was held on Tuesday June 17, 2014 at the Atlanta Golf Course. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fred Finchum at 7:35pm.
ROLL CALL: Mayor Fred Finchum, Billie Cheek, Bob Polley, Matt Clemmons, Adam McVey, and Amber Finchum were present. Bill Moore was absent.

Motion by Matt Clemmons second by Bob Polley to approve minutes as presented.

Roll Call:

Polley-yes Cheek-yes

Clemmons-yes McVey-yes

Moore-A Finchum-yes Motion Carries.


Motion by Bob Polley second by Adam Mcvey to pay all bills approved by their respective chairmen or as far as money allows.

Randy Brooks presented his outline of the recent Golf Course operations.
Mike Harrison gave a reported to the council on the cleaning of the Water Tower. Pressure was lost temporarily that forced the boil order. Several feet of (blank)
The system to fill Fire trucks at the Golf course was complete. Work will begin at the Casey’s on Wednesday.
The Mayor reported that the approval of the $99,000 grant for the Incubator project has been approved.
Rachel Neisler was present to seek support for membership in Looking for Lincoln project. A letter was needed from the City. She also was available to help organize records at City Hall.

Motion by Billie Cheek second by Adam McVey to approve the offer to organize the records in the City vault.

The Mayor went over the latest I50 rating survey. He recommended the council review the documents.

The Mayor reported that the Agreement between the Rural and City Fire Departments the payment to the City will increase $2500.


Nothing was done on the new lighting at the Ball Diamonds. The work will be started in the fall.
Alderman Cheek reported a call from a Water customer on the new collection procedure.
Alderman Clemmons reported that LPCA took 43 minutes to respond to an emergency at the Country Aire. He felt that an agreement with Mclean County could fix the problem. Maybe a letter needs to be sent to LPCA on the issue.
