Booker T. Washington High School (BTW) is a "State of the Art" High School in Atlanta, Georgia and throughout the world. The Alumni wants to plant a seed for continued growth and make a difference for all students of BTW. The BTWAA will support several functions within the school. The students currently attending and those who have attended Booker T. Washington High School will remember and understand the legacy and the history of their great school. BTWAA values students and believes that meaningful programs are essential to creating a vibrant and outstanding academic student who will become a successful contributing member to society. BTWAA values every individual student's potential to make a difference in his/her school and his/her community. BTWAA will instill leadership in the students by providing leadership roles. BTWAA values partnerships and believes that working with individuals, neighborhood groups, business organizations, and churches is the most effective way to address the students' needs. We want to partner with various non-profit organizations that support BTWAA's mission to help provide assistance to the students. This will enable us to help some students meet some of the familial challenges and school obligations that might otherwise be difficult to meet. BTWAA values diversity and believes that serving together creates opportunities for students to appreciate their differences, and creates a platform for mutual respect. These opportunities will consist of on the job training, students helping students, and other types of positive encouragement and exposure. An alumnus will sponsor a senior during his/her senior year and provide financial support and goal oriented opportunities. BTWAA values civic engagement and believes that service, guidance, leadership, and support transforms students into active citizens and leaders who take on greater roles in life as productive individuals. BTWAA will provide every student with a "LIFE OF HOPE, NOT A JOKE", backpack after graduation to show our appreciation for their hard work during the high school senior year, and to welcome them as an ALUMNI member. BTWAA will provide the "GIVE A BUCK TO $UPPORT A PUP FOUNDATION," in order to have resources in place to help each senior throughout the senior year with senior fees. In return the student will perform 48 hours of community service work with our sponsorship partners and/or alumni association fundraising events. BTWAA will provide support for every sports organization, student club, SGA, and special trip to help make every activity at Washington High a huge success. BTWAA will work towards the development of the whole person (academically, physically, socially, and emotionally) at Washington High School in a value-sensitive environment in preparation for a lifetime of learning, leadership and service. In order to promote our vision, we will work with a wide range of alumni entrepreneurial business partners. This also includes working with local communities, particularly those who currently have children or family members attending Washington High School.
