CST Canada proposed acquisition of Co-op Atlantic fuel business assets
Montreal, October 1, 2015 – CST Canada Co., the exclusive retailer of Ultramar branded products in eastern Canada, is pleased to announce that it has agreed to acquire the majority of the assets of Co-op Atlantic's bulk fuel and wholesale business, significantly extending its presence in Atlantic Canada. Terms of the acquisition, which is subject to court approval, were not disclosed.

"We already have a major presence in Atlantic Canada and this will enable us to continue to raise our profile in the region.

The Business & Home Heating Division of CST Canada is one of the largest full- service fuel resellers in Eastern Canada and has been serving the Atlantic Region for more than 50 years. It operates 46 delivery vehicles in Atlantic Canada serving more than 27,000 customers.  This division maintains offices in Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland.  CST also operates 165 retail fuel sites in the Atlantic Provinces.

Co-op Atlantic's bulk fuel business functions as an independent marketer and distributor of petroleum products under the banner of Co-op Energy and operates in Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. In addition to the delivery of furnace oil, diesel fuels and other petroleum-based products, it also sells and services a wide range of equipment, including boilers, furnaces, wood stoves, heat pumps, splits and fuel tanks.

The majority of Co-op Energy's revenue is derived through the delivery of bulk fuels to
commercial and residential customers from its six active bulk plants.
