PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
AGA KHAN RURAL SUPPORT PROGRAMME – PAKISTAN Feb 2007 to Present

AKRSP is a programme of AKF (Aga Khan Foundation), an international development agency of AKDN (Aga Khan Development Network). AKDN is the second largest development network in the world. AKRSP is operating in the Northern Areas and Chitral district of NWFP since 1982 with focus on social, economic and human development, eradication of poverty and address the issues of gender inequality.


I am currently working as a Agronomist with AKRSP Baltistan in Food Facility EC project funded by European Commission on 15 February 2010
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Prepare detailed work plans for the activities identified following the above process.




  1. Identify the beneficiaries for various interventions with the respective LSOs using the international best practices for such selections / identifications




  1. Supervise the crop inputs ( seed and fertilizer) need assessments, target group identification and crop input distribution in consultation with respective LSOs.




  1. Conduct training need analysis arrange capacity building training for the farmers in wheat and maiz seed production using the Farmer Field School approach.




  1. Assist the local seed companies in developing wheat and maize seed multiplication and marketing system in the region.




  1. Work closely with other section of AKRSP to maximize the out puts and out come through efficient use of the available resources




  1. Update Manager FFP EC/RPM regularly about the project activitiwes.




  1. Ensure timely reporting of the field activities.




  1. Conduct participatory monitoring of on-going activities.




  1. Compliance with documentation and reporting requirements specified by the super visor.

AGRIBUSINESS SPECIALIST

  • Designing enterprise and employment promotion interventions.

  • Formation of Farmers Enterprise Groups and developing business plan for them.

  • Identification of Business Development Services (BDSP) providers and assisting Farmer’s Groups to develop linkages with them

I worked with the SESNAC (Socio Economic Survey of Northern Areas & Chitral) team of AKRSP as an enumerator. The survey provided an opportunity to interact with the community directly and closely, and to learn about the socio economic conditions of the mountain people.
