  • Teaching of a course on professional communication particularly nutrition counselling to undergraduate students. This course aims to equip students with communication competencies with a particular focus on nutrition counselin;.

  • Development of research proposals and fund raising with partners implemented in developing and developed countries (academic institutions, NGOs, others);

  • Contribution to the development of competencies in public health nutrition through the World Public Health Nutrition Association;

  • Teaching of a course on community nutrition to undergraduate students. The content of the course relates to the identification of nutrition needs among a population and of a design of a plan of action to address the situation in terms of behavior and/or environmental change. This course use the ecological model « Precede-Proceed »;

  • Teaching of a course on health and nutrition to graduate students. This course provides students with an overview of the current nutrition situation and its determinants at the global, regional and national levels. It also attempts to equip them with methods and tools to design, implement, monitor and assess nutrition integrated programs in different contexts.

- Provide technical assistance on maternal and nutrition strategies to scale up nutrition and, in particular, provide technical guidance to the government on SUN (Scaling Up Nutrition) initiative including the development of a common framework and guidelines for SUN implementation and to the design of the MCC (Millennium Challenge Corporation) project and of two major Poverty Reduction Programmes (e.g. PNPM Generasi, Conditional Cash-Transfer);

- Provide technical support to the development and implementation of integrated models of interventions of health and nutrition interventions (e.g. Community-based Management of Acute malnutrition Nutrition integrated community-based counselling, Participatory approaches for community mobilization on nutrition). This includes the design of the programme using a participatory approach with local partners (line ministries, NGOs, UNICEF, local authorities, etc.), its implementation, the monitoring of evaluation of activities and of funds (e.g. EU, USAID, foundations) as well as donor reporting (technical and financial components);

  • Guarantee that all information and justification required by the leading agency meet all obligations and are delivered on time and that all relevant rules and procedures of project implementation are followed;

  • Provide training and ensure technical oversight and monitoring/evaluation of specific programme components such as counseling activities, the positive deviance approach, community-based management of acute malnutrition, immunization, malaria control, community integrated-management of child illnesses in partnership with line ministries and communities;

  • Support the strengthening of the health and nutrition monitoring system and, in particular the monitoring of the appropriate use of medicines and vaccines;

  • Conduct the assessment of nutritional status of all age groups using anthropometry as well as health status (self-reporting method) and dietary intake of all participants (food weighing);

  • Conduct the assessment of care practices (e.g. feeding, health, hygiene practices) towards most vulnerable groups to undernutrition (e.g. children under-five, women, elderly), household food security and access to health using different methods (interviews, direct observations);

  • Assess the use of natural and non-natural resources used by individuals and households (weighing method);

  • Develop a set of indicators to assess household food insecurity, access to health services/healthy environment and woman/child care practices, as well as household socioeconomic status;

  • Provide training and supervision to all 15staff involved in the survey;

  • Ensure reporting, budgeting and monitoring of the survey`s funds;

  • Present program results to different fora and symposiums(e.g. International Congress on Nutrition);

One of the main goals of the survey was to get relevant information in order to review current regulation in terms of population`s access to resources to ensure that it does not affect/jeopardize their health and nutritional status. As such, the objectives aim to assess the health and nutrition situation as well as the use of natural resources by local populations for food security, health and nutrition. It also included an assessment of all areas exploited by local populations for collection/use of natural resources using GPS`s methodology;

  • Provide training to local staff on methodology for data collection, perform analysis, and reporting of survey data;

  • Support to the implementation of initiatives including development of IEC materials aiming to enhance local population nutritional and health status as well as household food security. Implementation of community-based activities to improve child nutrition (community cooking women groups, nutrition and health promotion activities such as counseling);

- Supervision of local staff;

- Drafting of proposals for fund-raising;



  • Advocate for inclusion of nutrition, health and food security components into WWF ongoing programme.
