Mobile Applications
ome resources on EPOCH have a mobile version
DHHS Library Services
which has been developed for use on iPhones, iPads, Android smartphones and other mobile devices.

Instructions on how to register for the following mobile applications can be found on the DHHS intranet. Go to www.dhhs.tas.gov.au/intranet/bss/library_services and click on the Mobile Resources link listed under Library Quick Links.

Authenticating a mobile resource requires you to be at a DHHS desktop computer.


MIMS


The MIMS app or MIMS Mobile (which is a website for clients without smartphones) are available for Apple and Android devices.

These MIMS products contain a comprehensive list of Australian approved medicines and incorporate features such as drug interactions and pill identifier.

If you have signed up for MIMS Mobile, go to the website mimsmobile.com.au and login with your username and password sent to you by email.


mobileMicromedex

Micromedex® Drug Information, Micromedex® Drug Interactions and Micromedex® IV Compatibility are available for Apple devices.
Micromedex® Drug Information app contains concise information on 4,500+ search terms, covering generic names, common trade names, dosages, indications, contraindications, adverse effects, and more.
Micromedex® Drug Interactions app allows users to search and view potentially harmful drug interactions. Additional information provided by the app includes: why the drugs interact, how the result of these interactions will present in the patient, and recommendations for monitoring patient outcomes.
Micromedex® IV Compatability app provides information on the compatibility of various IV medication combinations.

DynaMed

The DynaMed app is available for Apple and Android devices.

DynaMed provides clinicians quick and easy access to evidence-based information at the point-of-care. Editors monitor the content of over 500 medical journals. Each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity. The app is designed for quick reference at the point-of-care and lists over 3 400 topics in an easy to read format.

EBSCOhost Databases

The EBSCOhost app is available for Apple and Android devices.


The app allows you to search databases like Medline, CINAHL, PsycINFO and SocINDEX. More information about the app is available at EBSCO Support.

SciVerse ScienceDirect Databases

The SciVerse ScienceDirect app is available for Apple, Android and Blackberry devices.

The app allows you to search, view and save offline the full text of articles from Elsevier journals that DHHS Libraries subscribe to. These include: Lancet, Gastroenterology, American Journal of Medicine, Journal of Pediatrics, Surgery, and Journal of the American College of Surgeons.
