First Quarter-Module 1
Arts and Crafts of the Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region
This module will bring and introduce you to different cultural communities from the highlands and lowlands of Luzon. It will guide you in your journey to the rich cultural range on the arts and crafts as inspired by the different artists in Luzon. You will understand how the elements of arts like lines, colors, shapes, and forms are combined by the Luzon folk artist in expressing their feelings and of the communities. The principles of designs such as contrast, harmony, unity, repetition of rhythm, symmetry, proportion, and emphasis are parts of the process in studying and analyzing the different art objects used in the lessons. Your know-how in the artistic expressions of the Filipino Luzon folk arts will enjoin you to innovate and create your own for the modern audience.
The main objectives of this module are the following:
analyzes elements and principles of art in the production of one's arts and crafts inspired by the arts of Luzon (highlands and lowlands) A7EL-Ib-1
identifies characteristics of arts and crafts in specific areas in Luzon (e.g., papier mâché (taka) from Paete, Ifugao wood sculptures (bul' ul), Cordillera jewelry and pottery, tattoo, and
Ilocos weaving and pottery (burnay), etc.) A7EL-Ia-2
reflects on and derive the mood, idea, or message emanating from selected artifacts and art objects. A7PL-Ih-1
appreciates the artifacts and art objects in terms of their uses and their distinct use of art elements and principles. A7PL-Ih-2
After going through with this module, you are expected to:
identifies/ enumerates/ describes/ explains the elements and principles of arts;
identifies and describes the arts from highlands and lowlands of
Luzon;
identifies/explains and describes the different moods, ideas or messages emanating from arts; &
identifies and explains the uses of different Arts.
