Rudimental'>SINGLE: NOT GIVING IN
(Feat. John Newman & Alex Clare)
RELEASE DATE: NOVEMBER 11
DEBUT ALBUM: SPRING 2013
Rudimental - the quartet who embody the melting-pot spirit of London’s Hackney - will release their brand new single, ‘Not Giving In’ on November 11 via Asylum Records. Effortlessly drawing together their individual influences to create music that conveys true soul whilst working the dance-floor hard (as shown in their recent Number 1 ‘Feel The Love’), the new track solidifies this unique musical identity. A sound clash of live instruments, beats and soulful voices, Piers Agget, Kesi Dryden, Amir Amor and DJ Leon Rolle are joined on ‘Not Giving In’ by the immense vocals of John Newman and those of powerhouse Alex Clare too. The release marks Rudimental out as a serious musical force ahead of their debut album next year
‘Not Giving In’ premiered as Hottest Record In The World on Zane Lowe last night (listen here), with Zane describing it as a song that “comes in and gives you the soul and then smacks you on the floor… dancefloor banger". It also had its first play on Fearne Cotton's show today.
Following on from the ground-breaking LA Shorts Festival-winning and MOBO-nominated video for “Feel The Love” (watch here), the clip for ‘Not Giving In’ will also premiere in the next seven days.
Rudimental and the collective of singers and players that surround them have had a busy summer in the studio writing and recording and on the road at festivals such as Outlook, Hideout, Bestival, SW4, Creamfields, Secret Garden Party and clubs including Fabric, Stealth, Motion and Warehouse Project. They also had the call-up to support Ed Sheeran at the iTunes festival, Example at Majorca Rocks and Mark Ronson and Zane Lowe at Ibiza Rocks.
Their full live show, seen only 3 times so far – setting alight Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend earlier this summer, the Isle Of Wight Festival and Later… With Jools Holland last night (watch here) – continues this Saturday (October 6th) at Brixton Academy where Rudimental are main support for Maverick Sabre. The band then take to the road for a headline set for Black Butter Records at XOYO (alongside Two Inch Punch, Bondax, Syron and Kidnap Kid), then onto the Annie Mac Presents Tour in November.
Piers explains: “We’ve had a great summer playing from everywhere from Croatia to Ibiza to London. Now though, we can't wait to show everyone what we’ve got in store". With last night’s appearance on Later… , as well as two tracks confirmed to air on the longer programme this Friday, Rudimental are set to do just that ahead of releasing their debut album in early 2013.
