****MEDIA ADVISORY**** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AUGUST 25, 2011 ATLANTIC HOCKEY MEDIA DAY SET FOR SEPTEMBER 20 HAVERHILL, Mass. -- Robert DeGregorio, Atlantic Hockey Commissioner, announced today that the Atlantic Hockey Media Day will take place on Tuesday, September 20 at 11:00 am at the Blue Cross Arena. The Blue Cross Arena has hosted the Atlantic Hockey Championships the last five seasons and will once again play host to the 9th annual Atlantic Hockey Championships.
As in years past we will have some coaches in attendance at the Blue Cross Arena. The two coaches that will be speaking are Frank Serratore of Air Force, 2011 Atlantic Hockey Tournament Champions and Wayne Wilson of RIT, 2010-11 Atlantic Hockey Regular Season Champions. The remaining 10 coaches have the option to attend or will be available for any questions that the media has for them via a conference call.
All media are welcomed to attend Media Day, but a call-in number will be provided if you are not able to be in attendance. Media members that would like to attend media day at the Blue Cross Arena are asked to respond to David Rourke, Director of Media Relations, by Tuesday, September 13 either by phone or email.
The Atlantic Hockey Association arose when nine institutions joined together on June 30, 2003, to form a new Division-I men’s ice hockey conference. The league currently consists of twelve members: Air Force Academy, American International College, Army, Bentley University, Canisius College, the University of Connecticut, the College of the Holy Cross, Mercyhurst College, Niagara University, Robert Morris University, Rochester Institute of Technology and Sacred Heart University.
