B2.2. Finishing School


A finishing school programme is proposed to be conducted for 7 days during the first week for the current S8 Mechanical BTech students 50(nos) as part of TEQIP Phase II .The programme aims at imparting additional skills in addition to the knowledge and expertise acquired during their course as part of normal curriculam. This includes training for students on topics like Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing , CFD Analysis of Rotating Machinery, Computer Aided Manufacturing ,Detailed design and design using solid works etc.The details of the programme and financial expenditure are listed below.

BoG approved the proposal to conduct the finishing school programme.

Chairman enquired why other departments are not proposing the programme, if the programmes are beneficial to the students. Other departments may also submit proposals for the next BoG meeting. Student feedback should be taken after the conduct of the programme and feedback is to be analysed. III Cell coordinator explained about the outcomes of last course.

BoG recommended that Industrial visit should also be part of the programme.

B2.3 Professional skill Development Programme


A professional skill development programme is proposed to be conducted for 5 days during the first week of June for eighth semester B.Tech civil engineering 45 (Nos) as part of TEQIP Phase –II. The programme aims at imparting additional skills in addition to the knowledge and expertise acquired during their course as part of normal curriculum. This includes training for students on following topics – Familiarization of Total Station, undertaking small projects in Total Station and planning a survey work using Total Station.Rent for -14000/-

The statistics f placement was presented by the placement officer before the BoG. BoG recommended that sincere efforts should be made to bring in core companies. BoG also remarked that approval has to be taken prior to the conduct of the programme and as a special case reimbursement of expenses is permitted by the BoG.
