General Guidelines for Submission of NVQ Assessment Details
by Registered Public/Private/NGO Training Institutions which conduct Accredited courses

Training institutes in the private/NGO sector that conduct accredited courses are hereby advised to follow undermentioned guideline as and when they request assessments and submit assessment results to the TVEC. From the year 2019, submission of assessment results is done only through the online system. i.
Enter student details to the online system in the TVEC website as appropriately using the user ID and password issued by the TVEC. Entering of students details to the online system will be curtailed by the system itself as the course completes 25% of the course duration. Accredited centres have to send the center logo, two signatures and designations to the Assessment Quality Assurance (AQA) division for system registration. Upon system registration, the center will be issued User ID and password to login to the TVEC website to enter student details. ii.
Make sure students appear for knowledge assessments in the occupations where such tests are conducted by the TVEC in NVQ level 4. Centers have to send the students for the knowledge test soon as they complete institutional training components of the course. As of June 2019, knowledge assessment are conducted in following occupations;

Hairdresser
(iii)
ICT Technician
(iv)
Pre-school Teacher
(v)
Draughtsperson
(vi)
Nurse Assistant
(vii)
Cook
(viii)
Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic
(ix)
Automobile Mechanic
(x)
Electrician
(xi)
Baker
(xii)
Quantity Surveying Assistant
(xiii)
Construction Site Supervisor iii.
In NVQ Level 4 courses, 6 months on-the-job training (OJT) is compulsory. iv.
Make a request for appointment of assessors for competency based assessment using the format available in the TVEC website www.tvec.gov.lk and submit to the AQA division 1 month before the end of the course. OJT component of training must have been completed to be eligible to submit assessment request form. v.
The training centres belong to Bureau of Foreign Employment should make the assessment request 2 weeks before completion of the course. vi.
Organize and conduct pre assessment with the support of the appointed assessors. Centers have to use one of the appointed assessors to do the pre assessment. vii.
Submit form III/15/04/01 (details of eligibility interview), form III/15/05/01(results of eligibility interview) duly completed to the finalassess@tvec.gov.lk soon as the pre assessment is completed.

Decide dates for final assessment in consultation with the students and the assessors. If there are no significant gaps of competencies, final assessment can be conducted soon after the pre assessment.
Sufficient time should be given to students if there are any gaps of competencies for them to be able to rectify the gaps and ready for final assessment. ix.
Conduct assessment and complete assessment record books as appropriately on completion of the assessment. x.
Check Assessment Record Books, pre assessment forms, final assessment forms and other documents for parity and accuracy. A check-list is given for this purpose which has to be checked properly and submit to the AQA division at the time of results submission. xi.
Enter assessment results to online database as appropriately. Check and approve entered data by an authorized person (usually the owner of the institute) by using user ID and password issued by the TVEC and authorize the uploaded data to be sent to the TVEC. xii.
Send final assessment record books of students along with AS - 01 form (or form III/05/07/01), copy of
Assessor appointment letter and pre assessment forms to reach the Assistant Director (Certificates) of the AQA division of the TVEC as appropriately.
Training centres have to make sure students use Student Progress Record Books throughout the course and OJT period. Instructors have to certify record books on regular basis as specified therein. Assessors will insist the student record books during the assessments. Student Progress Record Books are available at the TVEC for purchase by the Center managers.
