In the movie we can also see an artificial intelligence robot helping the main character, Deon (Dev Patel) to do household chores such as cleaning the house. Artificial intelligence plays a variety of functions in the tourism industry, including enhancing services and consumer experience. AI robots can be used as assistants in the tourism industry for example hotels which are robots used to perform simple tasks such as turning on lights in hotel rooms, turning on and off televisions, operating systems to ensure that luggage is automatically checked in and receive guests at the hotel (Samala et al., 2020). The use of AI robots in the hotel industry will help the staff to manage the hotel efficiently and effectively, for example, the robot could help the hotels in check-in procedure which can be done faster rather than by using human forces as it takes more than 2 hours or more. Some hotels now have self-check-in services for guests through computer provided or even robots in some countries such as Japan. This AI robot also can be used to modernize developments and improve tasks that have traditionally been performed by staff and can overcome many human shortages in the industry tourism, such as language barriers and manpower shortages (Bulchand-Gidumal, 2020). Improving customer experience, work process simplicity, and the capacity of human factors to focus on other tasks are some of the key advantages of robots in the tourism industry. and increase efficiency tourism business. However, the use of AI robots in the tourism industry has disadvantages such as it can eliminate a large of jobs as human forces are no longer needed. AI robots also cannot handle unexpected situations as they only handle the prescribed task (Barden, 2017).

In the movie, it is also shown that an AI robot (Chappie) has protected the character Yolandi (Yolandi Visser) from enemy attacks. This scene proves that the use of AI robots is not only helping humans in performing tasks but can also be to protect humans. In the context of the tourism industry, AI robots can be used as security and guide for tourists (Samala et al., 2020). For instance, in the airline industry, tourists can ask these AI robot assistants questions and find out information that they needed. AI robotic in airlines also can be used to guide passengers through the hallway to their boarding gates or even to assist in security duties.
