We need silent and live raffle items and most importantly need to sell the 125 tickets. All members are asked to buy or sell at least two tickets. Please ask your friends and business associates to buy tickets and direct others to the Kenwood Press or the Brown Paper Ticket site.
OUR NEW HOME
kenwood depot.jpg

We have changed our meeting schedule to twice a month and are meeting at the Kenwood Depot 314 Warm Springs Road in Kenwood on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. We will still be meeting from 5:30-7:00 and will be there until further notice.

DUNBAR FOOD PROGRAM

c:\users\gordom\appdata\local\microsoft\windows\inetcache\ie\5pkh071o\school-for-clipart-4[1].jpg

The program provides food help for 24 kids and their families every Friday at Dunbar Elementary. They probably would have nothing to eat for the weekend except for what we are giving them from the food bank.

We need help in moving the food on Fridays from Sonoma Boys and Girls Club in Sonoma to Dunbar School from 1:00 to 3:00 as well as staffing the 4:00-5:00 shift to hand out the bags. If we all pitch in it only requires you to volunteer for one shift a month.
NEW WEB SITE

After last year’s complaint about lack of black actors and stories, there are many up for awards. Be sure and see Fences and Hidden Figures.
The Award Committee has a meeting the day before the awards to talk about grounds rules should they win an Oscar.

Their speeches are one minute and then the music will get them off. Please no political speeches. Entertainment is to get people away from the daily grind.

LaLa land was shot solely in Los Angeles. It is up for 14 Oscars. Gosling and Stone had to take dancing lessons for several hours a day and Gosling spent three hours on the piano for his part. The directors vote for best picture and actors for best actor and actress as well as best supporting actors, and so on.
COMING SPEAKER

On March 1, our speaker will be NPR commentator John Mc Chessy talking about politics, the media, and much more. Don’t miss this talk!
