The video uses animation to depict an Area Navigation Required Navigation Performance Authorization Required approach into Atlanta’ DeKalb–Peachtree Airport. This approach helps pilot avoid obstacles, including TV towers, as they fly into the airport during low-visibility conditions.

The animation begins with a pilot and co-pilot looking out the window in front of them. We see the crew from behind. The aircraft is 3,000 feet above the ground at this point as indicated on screen. Clouds are visible outside the windows.

The scene zooms into what the pilot sees out the window. The aircraft continues flying straight and descending. A side view of the aircraft is displayed for a few seconds slightly pitched down. The aircraft is at about 2,500 feet above the ground as indicated on screen.

The scene returns to the view from the pilot’s perspective, looking out the window. The aircraft begins to turns to the right, a slight yaw and roll, into a curved path.

As the plane turns, the Atlanta cityscape appears on the horizon in the far distance. A few seconds later, multiple red and white TV towers begin to appear to the left and right of the city in the distance.

The aircraft continues in a tight turn avoiding the obstacles. The plane begins to descend on approach to Runway 3R which appears in the center of the screen. Words appear on the screen indicating that the aircraft deviates from the approach path no more than 0.3 nautical miles to the left or right side of the runway centerline.

The aircraft lands.
