High Speed Data Enhancements - Data Only Phase 1
IP RAN Study
The expected result of this study would be a feasibility study highlighting tangible benefits of a new RAN architecture. This study should contrast the current CDMA 2000 RAN with the current understanding of IP based architectural benefits.
Bi-directional GRE Key Assignment over RP Interface
This feature proposes a new Version field and the bi-directional assignment of session identifier key value in the Session Specific Extension of A11 Registration messages to enable efficient forwarding of frames across the RP interface.
Flexible Rate Data
Consists of creating new values for the Frame Content field in the existing A3 traffic frames to indicate flexible rates.
This proposed feature is a release B item and has been baselined in TSG-C. It will be included pending final approval in TSG-C.
This feature provides a new soft handoff scheme with Iterative Turbo Decoding, which can achieve a kind of coding diversity gain in addition to the conventional diversity gain during the soft-handoff process
