Based on a podcast on the Freakonomics website, "Is the 2 trillion the right medicine for a sick economy by Stephen Dubner, there is a lot of real talk concerning how to help the unemployed during the covid 19pandemic. This podcast was quite informative as it relayed arguments concerning what we learned concerning unemployment and fiscal policies.

It is quite evident that America Is broad, and it is also impossible to develop a single policy that will help address the unemployed. When we consider different options that merit aiding an ailing economy, it is important to take a lot of time to research and develop the best strategy to help the economy regrow. The economic downturn experiences a lot of unemployment, but we never realize the best strategy of helping the unemployed. As portrayed by different guests, fiscal policies are not there to benefit everybody but an opportunity to maintain a civilized state. Budgetary programs are often short-lived, and many unemployed citizens will focus on the benefits and resort to quitting their jobs due to the availability of government compensation.

A second option of dealing with the unemployed is providing relief through states. Still, it becomes quite difficult to add an extra duty to their already tedious job regarding the nature of their duties. However, as presented within the course, I agree with the podcast's view on using SMEs as an opportunity to implement relief schemes.

The government has raised the national minimum wage and expanded worker training, reduced economic inequality, invested in sustainable energy and infrastructure, developed affordable healthcare, and forgiven student loans. However, such incentives are hard to ration, and they end up making taxpayers pay for years after the plans were implemented. However, fiscal strategies for SMEs will boost the economy since SMEs employ many Americans. Other workers who lost employment may regain their jobs since the economy is quickly gaining shape. This plan is sustainable since the SME pays a lot of taxes to the government, and thus this plan will repay the government.

However, Implementing the Fiscal plans will harm the economy years after the schemes have been implemented. Such programs require a lot of funds to implement, which calls for loans. The COVID 19 pandemic is unpredictable, and its end cannot be known; hence any plan should be carefully considered before implementation.
