Where you grew-up sailing: Atlanta Yacht Club on Lake Allatoona
Youth sailing/racing experiences: Started sailing as a kid in Optis then Lasers, Y-flyers, Snipes and the family woody Thistle 1440. In addition, have sailed big boats in the Chesapeake, on Lake Michigan, and in the Long Island Sound and momentarily got up on the foils of Harcourt’s Moth!
College sailing: Race Captain and President of University of Georgia Sailing team. Traveled and competed in SAISA for 4 years of undergrad, had a little too much fun!
Past coaching experience: Atlanta Yacht Club summer instructor 2011-2013 in Lasers and 420s, then went further north to Guilford to be the Race Coach for Sachem’s Head Yacht Club in 2015 and ready for another summer this 2016.
Certifcations: US Sailing Levels 1,2, and 3; STEM/REACH; CPR/First Aid certified
What you like best about coaching kids: Kids have more fun! I want them to have a great day, every day and have them learn something along the way.
Anything else? I will be fresh off a backpacking trip around Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Phillipines when I get up to Guilford this 2016 summer, so pray I don’t bring the Zika virus with me!
