The images that follow are not a fulsome pursuit of curiosity but a necessity to understanding what happened. As we write and describe this horrific crime we can all say that we find it very difficult even to type as we work through these horrid details. We attempt to present the remains of JBR here in the most dignified way that a competent investigation will allow in the hope that the victim would understand our pure motive in seeking justice for her. As Kir writes and views these pictures he cannot but think of his own son and how the desire for dignity prevails over all else. We ask the reader to view these images in that spirit, understanding that a person deserving respect and dignity once occupied these battered remains.
Additionally rub marks near the furrow indicate a struggle between assailant and victim in which the victim was lifted upward slightly by her neck and the rope, then settled to a relaxed position as the furrow took hold. This is consistent with a much taller assailant if the victim is standing and a taller assailant if the victim was seated. It is not indicated for supine or any laying position. The standing scenario is less likely than the seated scenario since the furrow appeared to make as a result of a weight settling, not supported by the lower body. Therefore, the victim was most likely seated during this attack.
A small footprint consistent in size with that of a 6 year old child was found in the “wine cellar”, indicating that JBR was likely the source and was standing and alive in the “wine cellar” before her death. According to Lou Smit, the mold on the “wine cellar” floor was a fast growing type. If so, this would diffuse footprints quickly, thus making the footprint a fresh one. This also suggests that the Hi-Tec boot imprint also found on the “wine cellar” floor was fresh. However, it is unclear exactly how this impression was sourced or contributed and we’ve dismissed it for the purposes of a best-fit.
A poor quality zoom of the right hand showing jewelry and the loosely applied ligature over the shirt worn to the Christmas party hours earlier.
Here we see a clearer image of the right hand showing the loosely tied, non-restraining rope around the right wrist. But we also note that it was likely loosened by the victim as well as JR – to be discussed. We can also see more design detail in the white shirt worn to the Fleet White Christmas party.
