Though it is, strictly speaking, hearsay, detective Arndt stated that prior to this disappearance JR appeared relatively calm and composed. After reappearing he appeared nervous, agitated and was shaking his knee while he sat. True or not, Arndt, in an attempt to give the occupants something useful to do and keep them out of trouble, asked JR and FW to search the house for anything out of the ordinary, from “top to bottom”, she claims she said. This was shortly after JR was informed that a search warrant was being obtained to search the house. JR quickly responded, according to Arndt, and moved directly toward the basement stairs (everyone was on the main floor at that time). FW followed.
