Method
The following databases were searched to identify studies: Medline (OVID), Embase (OVID), and Psych INFO (OVID), Google scholar. These databases were searched up to 4th July 2019. To increase sensitivity, the keywords sourced from the reviews and any corresponding MeSH terms of “emotional blunting” “emotional numbing” “apathy” “indifference” “alexithymia” and “amotivation” “antidepressants” “SSRI” as well as various combinations among them were searched in the databases mentioned. Final string used in search results shown in Table 1.
The Critical Appraisal Skills Programme “CASP” Checklists6 were used to appraise the quality of the papers below in order to reduce bias in appraisal rigor.
