He is a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at Los Angeles Valley College and President Emeritus of the California Federation of Teachers. He is a former member of the California Community College State Academic Senate Executive Committee, former President of the CFT Community College Council, and a former Vice President of the California Federation of Labor.
