PI Interface to the Baily System
Naming Conventions and Requirements
The installation procedure below assumes that the name of the interface executable is
i90.exe
and that the startup command file is called
i90.bat
When Configuring the Interface Manually
When an interface is configured as a Windows service, the executable filename (i.e.,
i90.exe
) and the command file (i.e.,
i90.bat
) must have the same root name (i.e.,
i90
). The reason is that at service startup, the interface executable (i.e.,
i90.exe
) looks specifically for startup parameters in ab .batbfile (i.e.,
i90.bat
) that has the same root name (i.e.,
i90
) as the executable.
Thus, when manually configuring the interface and running multiple copies, the user needs to copy and rename both the executable and the startup command file. For example, copy
i90.exe
so that
i901.exe
results and copy
i90.bat
so that
i901.bat
results. Subsequently,
i901.exe
and
i901.bat
are typically used for interface instance number 1. Repeat the process so that
i902.exe
and
i902.bat
are used for interface instance number 2, and soon bInterface Directories

The
PIHOME
directory tree is defined by the
PIHOME
entry in the
pipc.ini
configuration file
This
pipc.ini
file is an ASCII text file it is located in the directory where Windows itself is installed
A typical
pipc.ini
file contains the following lines:
[PIPC]
PIHOME=c:\program files\pipc
The above lines define the
\program files\pipc
directory as the root of the
