Got there this AM before 5am....saw a couple of guys shrimping...seemed to be doing alright....light came, pomps showed up. Seemed as if they came in waves....several bigger fish, my biggest of 3 was just over 18 to the fork. Left around 8ish as it was getting a little too full! Glad to see people keeping their heads with all the tangles. Nice to fish with a bunch of you again, and to meet a few new memebers as well....hope you got a few after I left. As mentioned before....color was good, wind was stiff SSE current going North

Zebco is the fish box full?

The bite has been solid the last two days. I was out of town but a good freind hit the pier for half an hour to get fleas and sad he say at least 25 fish caught but massive tangles on the way and he could the screaming from the beach. Sounds like fun.
The beach has been slow. Think we didn't get enough rough weather and the sandbars are to close to shore. He fished two spots down the beach and it sucked. meaning no limit but fish caught. its getting crowded on the beach also. Maybe I should of never posted that i get them off the beach south of the pier. Our spot had 14 rods out last night when last year 8 would be a busy day if they were biting. Haven't seen the commercial guys either so this may be a bad year for the beach.

mad poms in the morning and a lot of small macks in the afternoon. there were also 2 30lb cobes cruising around for about 30 minutes around 6pm. they would come up, get 15-20, jigs/gotchas/grunts thrown at them and then go back down. this guy rich (that i think is visiting from up north and has been there everyday for the past few days doing a double rod trolly) hooked one on a runner but it came off. they wanted big baits and that runner was the only one anyone had out or put out. we put out beast mack steaks on bottom but nada.

fished all day sunday... pomps were solid in the morning... limited out on jigs in under an hour... lots of blues and spanish mixed in...

in the afternoon... a big school of blues came through and they were nailing anything that hit the water...

bugged a bunch of gogs in the afternoon and caught four more pomps in the evening...
the evening pompano bite wasn't spectacular.. water was a little clear... There was a huge school of them but getting them to bite was different... Saw some tourist reel in a little puffer followed by like 50+ pomps! They're out there.... just not chewin hard
lots of decent size macks in the evening as well
