The Port of Morehead City hosted thousands of visitors during events this weekend as part of the 26th Annual NC Seafood Festival. Morehead City Port Police parked nearly 3,000 vehicles, nearly 900 people visited the NC Ports exhibit and more than 150 visitors took a guided tour of the port.
The commodities imported and exported through Morehead City were on display for visitors to touch and feel at the open house on Saturday. Most visitors were intrigued by the variety of goods the port handles, and were grateful for the opportunity to see the product first hand. Port of Morehead City employees were on deck to describe the materials and give a thorough explanation of how the products are handled.
